Your outdoor spaces don't pause when your schedule gets full. A busy week, a stretch of travel, a dinner party that crept up faster than expected. Suddenly you're noticing the front planters on your way in Tuesday night with guests arriving Friday.
Most landscaping and lawn services are built around maintenance, keeping what exists tidy, functional, and alive. That's a valuable service, but it's not what we do. Botanica is a design service first. We begin with a consultation to understand your home, your aesthetic, the way you live outdoors, and the impression you want your property to make. From there, we design and install a container garden that is specific to you: the vessels, the plant palette, the finishing touches, the seasonal rhythm. Nothing is templated. Nothing is applied from a catalog. We then manage everything that follows: the care visits, the seasonal transformations, the winterization. You don't make decisions, place orders, or troubleshoot. You simply come home to something beautiful, including the Friday your guests arrive.
If a lawn service is the equivalent of hiring a housekeeper, Botanica is the equivalent of hiring an interior designer who also keeps the house.
Every Botanica engagement is custom, so we don't publish fixed prices. What's right for a Pittsford front entrance is a different conversation than what's right for a Finger Lakes lakefront property with twenty containers and a terrace.
What drives the investment is straightforward: the number of containers and the scale of your outdoor footprint. Every engagement includes full design, installation, and weekly care visits through the season. Nothing is self-managed, and nothing is left for you to figure out between visits.
The best way to understand what's right for your property is a complimentary site visit: an hour at your home where we assess the space, discuss your vision, and give you a clear picture of what's possible and what it would cost. Most clients find the conversation worthwhile regardless of what comes next.
To start that conversation, reach out at [email protected] or 585.310.2121.
Most clients aren't, and that's exactly what the site visit is for.
The right scope becomes clear when we're standing in the space together. We look at what's there, what's possible, how you use the property, and what matters most to you. From that conversation, we can tell you honestly what would make the most difference and what the right level of care looks like for your home.
You don't need to arrive with a vision. You don't need to know how many containers you want or how often you'd like us there. You need an hour and a willingness to show us around. We'll take it from there.
This is exactly the situation Botanica was built for. Many of our clients are at their Finger Lakes properties for a season, a few months, or a series of weekends, and the last thing they want to spend those visits doing is managing the outdoor spaces.
We handle everything before you arrive and continue caring for it after you leave. The design, the installation, the weekly visits: all of it runs whether you're there or not. You arrive to find it already beautiful. You leave knowing it will be tended to the last day.
We communicate proactively and manage access so that care visits happen seamlessly without your presence. Your property should feel ready, and feel like yours, every single time you pull into the driveway.
Both, and the honest answer is that most of our best work begins somewhere in between.
If you have vessels you love, we work with them. If you have a color palette established by your home's exterior, your interior, or a garden you've tended for years, we design within it and build on it. If there are plants already on your property that matter to you, such as a climbing rose on the trellis, a hydrangea your mother planted, or a Japanese maple you've watched grow for a decade, they become part of the composition, not obstacles to it.
What we bring is the eye to see what's already there, the expertise to know what it needs, and the design sensibility to make it look as though it was always meant to be exactly this.
That said, we will tell you honestly if something isn't working: a vessel that has seen better days, a plant in the wrong position, a combination that competes rather than harmonizes. We won't replace anything without your knowledge and agreement, but we also won't design around a problem and pretend it isn't there. Honest counsel is part of what you're engaging when you work with us.
For clients starting with a blank slate, such as a new construction, a newly purchased home, or a property that has simply never had the outdoor attention it deserves, we love that too. There is something particularly satisfying about designing from nothing, with nothing to work around and everything still possible.
Wherever your property is when we arrive, we meet it there. The goal is always the same: outdoor spaces that feel completely, unmistakably yours.
